To ensure a smooth and legal car rental in Nairobi, you must provide the following original documents. We recommend having digital copies on your phone as a backup, but the physical originals are required at the time of pickup.
1. Proof of Identity
Kenyan Citizens: A valid Original National ID Card.
Foreigners & Expats: A valid Passport with your entry visa or arrival stamp (minimum 6 months validity remaining).
2. Driving Credentials
Valid Driving License: You must have held your license for at least 2 to 3 years.
International Driving Permit (IDP): Required for foreigners whose licenses are not in English or are from non-Commonwealth countries.
Tip: If you are from the UK, USA, or South Africa, your national license is often accepted, but an IDP is highly recommended for self drive trips to avoid issues at police checkpoints.
3. Proof of Residence (For Self-Drive)
To verify your stability and security for self drive car hire, we may request:
A recent Utility Bill (KPLC or Water) or KRA PIN Certificate.

4. Financial Security
